For me this it one of the best musicals out there. I had the opportunity to see the 1997 revival five times and I was very, very sad to see it close. It introduced me to a fabulous group of actors many of whom I hadn't seen before. My personal favorite was Merwin Foard. This is a great page which will only get better! Favorite other musical: none! Comments: This movie is wonderful! I first saw it at age eight, I'm now eleven. My Dad brought a copy home one day from a local movie rental, and told my sister and I he thought we would like it. Well he was right! we LOVED it!!! So my father bought a copy of it fo us. Before I saw 1776 I had always loved SocialStudies, but seeing it I experienced a whole new part of history, the history of our country. Before the movie I knew, yes there was a Declaration of Independence, yes Thomas Jefferson wrotre it, I had no C UE about the congress or anything else. Now I know the declaration by heart!! 1776 is an absolutly wonderful movie and I'm happy to know it has lots of other fans than me! By the way, this is a wonderful page!
